This string trio program will feature the viola in Bach’s Sonata in G Minor for Viola da Gamba and will premiere a newly commissioned work by Iowa City composer Brian Lenth. Says Lenth, “again and again and again (2026) is a sympathetic picture of paranoia. It uses a ‘maximalist’ texture to create the feeling of being caught within many conflicting agendas. In the midst of the chaos, a voice from within prays for truthful sanity.” Other works on the program are a three-movement trio by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and the highly entertaining Suite latinoamericana by Vinicio Meza.
