Tai Chi is one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body. Tai chi has been known to improve muscular strength, flexibility, improve quality of life, and much more. This program is hosted in partnership with Heritage Area Agency on Aging.

Longarm Quilting Project Time

Certified longarm quilter users are able to sign up for project hours to complete personal projects in the library's MakerSpace.

Important Notes About Project Hours:

  • All users must use materials from the library's quilting kit or certified materials. Volunteers will work with attendees to ensure that approved materials are being used. Patrons without approved materials will be asked to reschedule their project time.
  • Projects must be 90 inches or less due to the limitations of the machine
  • Project hours are limited to one session per week and two sessions per month, per patron, to ensure that all users have time to use the machine. Individuals who sign up on the library's waitlist will be contacted in the case of cancellations.

Join us to learn the basics of our longarm quilter and become a certified machine user! This course is a prerequisite to using the longarm for any personal projects.

Important Notes About the Training:

  • Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as this class is completed entirely on foot.
  • Attendees will be scheduled to train with two other people. If you need to cancel, please let the library know as soon as possible so the spot can be opened to another patron on the waitlist.
  • After completing this course, attendees can register to come and work on personal projects with a volunteer supervisor. 

Quilting kits are available for purchase in the MakerSpace. Attendees are welcome to bring their own supplies -- they must be approved before usage on the machine.
