Event Details
Crazy Yarn Club is a 6-week, beginner-friendly crochet series designed to bring creativity, connection, and confidence to the community. During these six weeks, participants will learn foundational crochet skills in a relaxed, supportive environment where everyone is welcome to learn at their own pace.
What You’ll Learn
• How to hold a hook and yarn comfortably
• Slip knot and chain stitch
• Single crochet and building rows
• Turning work and maintaining stitch count
• Beginning and finishing a simple project
Weekly Schedule
- Week 1 - May 20: Foundations
Slip knot, chain stitch, how to hold hook and yarn, building comfort and confidence.
- Week 2 - May 27: Single Crochet
Introduction to single crochet, working into chain, understanding stitch structure.
- Week 3 - June 3: Building Rows
Continuing rows, turning work, maintaining stitch count, improving consistency.
- Week 4 - June 10: Confidence & Consistency
Refining technique, even tension, recognizing stitches, independent practice.
- Week 5 - June 17: Simple Project
Beginning a small project such as a dishcloth or square, following a simple pattern.
- Week 6 - June 24: Finish & Next Steps
Finishing project, tying off, weaving in ends, guidance for continued learning.
Starter kits, including yarn and basic tools, will be provided at no charge for all participants.
