Event Details
Power Up Camp is a 4-day hands-on adventure where attendees explore energy, electricity, nature, and conservation through games, storytelling, art, and engineering challenges. Geared toward grades 5 to 8, attendees will experiment with static electricity, take apart real devices, create sun-powered art, and much more! Through this series, attendees will learn how power shapes their world and how they can shape the future.
- Day 1 (February 17): Discover - Science is not just something you study, it is something you use every day. Dive into the exciting world of energy, electricity, and personal power. Test static electricity to race your fellow campers and learn basic electricity safety rules.
- Day 2 (February 24): Detect - Uncover how energy works. Dissect safe, unplugged everyday devices and explore how energy changes form.
- Day 3 (March 3): Explore - Find out how trees are essential for ecosystems, climate health, and energy conservation.
- Day 4 (March 10): Design - Take on the challenge of building an insulated structure. Think like an engineer to plan, build, test, and improve.
